The twenty-two year old former St. Mirren player, who spent last season on loan at Alloa, joins from the second division club in an attempt to boost Elgin's scoring record which currently stands at a dsappointing 18 in 21 league games.

Donnachie has started just one game this season for Stranraer, as well as making three substitute appearances, without scoring. He managed two goals in his stint at Alloa when he was involved in thirteen games, eleven of which were as a substitute.

The attacker is set to make his debut on Saturday away to East Stirlingshire in a game which could see the return of Allan Dempsie. Andy Roddie (ankle) and Stuart Cumming (suspension) both miss out.
