Last updated : 09 August 2013

Niven blow for Elgin

Elgin will be without skipper David Niven when they play host to Albion.

Niven suffered a broken nose in last weekend's Scottish League Cup defeat to Livingston and will not feature.

Ross Jack's side are also without Mark Nicolson (stomach), Paul Millar (knee) and Darryl McHardy (toe).

Jack said: " Albion looked to have recast their side strongly following relegation so this is a real test for us.

Albion boss James Ward will be without a key trio for the trip.

Chris Dallas is unavailable due to personal reasons while Barry Russell (ankle) is also a couple of weeks away.

Kevin Green has opted to join junior side Arthurlie on loan as he seeks regular game time and is also unavailable for selection.

Ward said: "We are playing a team who, like us, start the season with promotion ambitions and we will learn how realistic they are over the 90 minutes."
