Elgin V Livingston at Borough Briggs - Match Preview

Injury-hit Lions wait on Burchill

Elgin hope to complete Paul McMullan's return to the club in time to have him available to face Livingston in the first round of the Scottish Communities League Cup.

Mark Nicolson remains out with a stomach injury and Paul Millar's knee problem means that he faces a lengthy spell on the side-lines. Darryl McHardy is also absent due to a toe complaint.

Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack said: "We had a terrific win over Livingston three years ago in the Scottish Cup and repeating that would be a fantastic result.

"It will be difficult to achieve as they will be going all out to prove a point after losing to Berwick last week."

Mark Burchill is a major doubt for Livingston. The Lions' player/assistant manager is struggling with a calf injury.

The visitors are already without Burton O'Brien (toe), Stefan Scougall (hamstring), Keaghan Jacobs (knee), Danny Denholm (ankle) and Ross Docherty (groin).

Manager Ritchie Burke hopes that Burchill passes a fitness test.

He said: "We are a pretty patched up bunch at the moment and Elgin are a very strong side at home so this is a tricky tie for us.

"We will have another young side out but if they defend better at set pieces than we did against Berwick we will do okay."
