Elgin V Peterhead at Borough Briggs - Match Preview

Elgin manager Ross Jack has delayed naming his squad to face Peterhead.

A car crash has left back-up goalkeeper Chris Tucker fighting for his life and several members of the Borough Briggs squad suffering injuries.

Jack said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris and his family just now. At the moment our plan is for the game to go ahead and allow the players to have some sense of normality.

"Some of the players were due to be involved against Peterhead but I will wait to Saturday lunchtime before finalising anything.

"Peterhead are a strong side and their manager Jim McInally was a deserving winner of the Manager of the Month Award but I will concentrate more fully on tactics ahead of kick-off."

Peterhead's Bryan Deasley will miss the clash with the Black and Whites.

Deasley has been ill all week while David Ross is also absent following the broken collarbone he suffered at the start of the season.

Balmoor boss Jim McInally reckons the 6-1 defeat his men suffered at Borough Briggs last season will be a spur in this game.

McInally said: "We reckon we are a stronger side than last season and this game will be a test if that is the case.

"They turned us over there six months ago so it will be interesting to see how we get on this time.

"We have started the season well and winning another three points would be a great way to keep the momentum going."
