David Robertson said "He played for Ayr a few days ago but has decided to join us instead because we had given him a chance first.
"That is encouraging because he had offers from a couple of First Division teams to go on trial but knocked them back for us. He sees that we've got a young side and I think he understands that, if we keep everyone together, we could maybe have a chance of winning promotion next year."
