Robbo makes first swoop

The former Peterhead, Motherwell and Aberdeen winger is a welcome newcomer to an Elgin squad that has lacked a natural left sided midfielder in recent times.

Roddie joins Elgin as a player-coach on a two year deal, keeping him at the club until he's 34, and will help with the youth several Elgin City youngsters will be turning full time as Skillseekers.

Robertson and Roddie played together at Aberdeen and Robbo said: "Andy's experience will be fantastic for us and I believe he is the best left-sided player in the league."

Elgin have also been boosted with Willie Martin, Jamie MacKenzie and captain John Allison signing new contracts. Whilst Hibs' Allan Dempsie has joined the club after a loan spell last season and Ross County have agreed to loan Craig Campbell for another season.

Craig Tully, however, has gone, leaving Elgin for Peterhead after spending only a half a season in his second spell with the black and whites.

Jamie White, Rab Coulter, Ryan McMullan, Steve McCormick, Peter Hamilton have all been released as David Robertson looks to rebuild his squad.
