Berwick 1-1 Elgin- Report

Battling Berwick bounce back

Berwick secured a well-earned 1-1 draw against Elgin despite David Greenhill's early dismissal.

Greenhill's reckless challenge on Stuart Leslie left his side with 10 men for more than 75 minutes.

So it was no surprise when Elgin took the lead, Craig Gunn getting on the end on Daniel Moore's cross from the left.

But the hosts fought back to equalise on the stroke of half-time through Darren Gribben's composed one-on-one finish.

Rangers then shut up shop after the interval and frustrated Elgin for the large parts of the second half.

Berwick even came close to grabbing an unlikely victory late on, but McDonald and substitute striker Darren Lavery both missed the target when well-placed to work goalkeeper Alexander Clark.
