Elgin 1-2 Stirling- Match Report

McAnespie at the double

Kieran McAnespie scored twice to extend Stirling's unbeaten league run to seven matches in a 2-1 win at Elgin.

The midfielder's first goal, a brilliant strike from 30 yards after seven minutes, was followed up by a fine volley into the top corner shortly before half-time.

Elgin's Stuart Leslie had equalised for the hosts with a close-range finish for his 12th goal of the season but the striker's effort was not enough to stop the visitors leaving the Borough Briggs ground with all three points.

The win means Albion rise above East Stirling and Annan Athletic into seventh on goal difference with a game in hand.

Elgin remain three points off the play-off places in fifth after a fourth defeat on the bounce.
