Elgin 3-0 Alloa- Match Report

Alloa lose their marbles at Elgin

Table-toppers Alloa fell to a resounding 3-0 defeat at the hands of Elgin, seeing their lead at the top of the Scottish Third Division cut to five points.

Elgin, who beat Alloa 5-0 earlier in the season, keep in touch with Annan who occupy the final play-off place.

City got off to the perfect start, going ahead within a minute when Paul Millar struck beyond Scott Bain from the edge of the box.

St Johnstone loanee May was proving Alloa's biggest threat but Paul Hartley's Wasps struggled in front of goal.

The home side doubled their lead 10 minutes before half-time, Craig Gunn claiming his 12th league goal of the season by latching onto Brian Cameron's pass and sliding it into the left-hand corner.

The comprehensive victory was confirmed in the 67th minute when Stuart Leslie was on hand to convert Brian Cameron's cut-back.
