Home comforts finally bear fruit

Peterhead earned only their second home league win of the season as they beat 10-man Elgin 3-0.

Goalkeeper Alexander Clark was sent off for the visitors when he brought down Rory McAllister inside the area after 21 minutes.

The striker stepped up to tuck away the subsequent spot-kick, placing the ball past substitute stopper John Calder.

Midfielder Graeme Sharp doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time with a fierce strike from the edge of the area.

Craig Gunn almost brought Elgin back into the game after 56 minutes, but saw his drilled effort cannon against the post.

Scott Ross finished the scoring on 72 minutes, meeting Bryan Beasley's cross with a firm header to record his first goal for the club.
