Gunn blasts Stirling

Craig Gunn fired a first-half hat-trick as second-placed Elgin thrashed bottom club Stirling 4-1 in the Irn-Bru Scottish Third Division.

Gunn stroked home Brian Cameron's pass for the first after six minutes before finding the top right-hand corner of Mark Peat's goal from 12 yards in the 27th minute.

The impressive striker completed his treble four minutes later as he coolly slotted in another Cameron pass from close range.

Stuart Leslie smashed into the roof of the net to make it four 15 minutes before the break before Albion frontman Graham Weir found the bottom left-hand corner to reduce the deficit.

Paul Harkins tested Peat in the closing stages but the visitors were unable to add to their tally as they stretched their unbeaten league run to six games.
